The firebox is of the panoramic type: a very elongated, low opening, which gives the fire the horizontal presence of a painting rather than a lantern.
It is underlined by an aged steel lintel, left with its brown-orange patina, which runs the full width and returns at the end. This metal band is the only sharp line in a whole that is otherwise entirely rendered in off-white.
The appliance is set at the edge of a raised platform, in an interior panelled in light wood. Completed in 2013.
