This site view shows the inside of a heat-storage stove, at the very moment when you can still see how it works. The Kaschütz E12 firebox is in place on the right, already glazed; on the left, the finned ceramic storage unit is dry-assembled, black joints showing, set with straightedge and level.
The 180 mm Durasic flues connect the firebox to the storage unit: it is through them that the flue gases, leaving the firebox at high temperature, give up their heat to the ceramic before reaching the stack. The rest — the cladding in insulating blocks, then the render — merely covers this mechanism.
The whole assembly rests against an existing stone wall, in an old house. Built in 2023.
